...the online home of the Full Moon Prophets...

We are a four-piece blues-R&B-rock-jam group from western Montana. FMP is available for diverse gigs, including clubs and private functions. We play fun originals, as well as modern adaptations of classic tunes. We play music we love- from CSNY to Bob Dylan to Sheryl Crow, with an original blues-funk twist.

We hope you enjoy cruising around our site, and we'd love to hear from you!

What the Prophets are up to...

Summer 2009

The days are longer and warmer. Time to play hard during the day and kick back with some good dance music at night. Come out and lose yourself (or find yourself) in some great live R&B, blues, and rock 'n roll. People need FUN. It's good for you. We can help with that!

Here we will post periodic blog entries and announcements. Check back often, as we will try to stay up-to-date regarding what's going on with our band.

Hi everyone, thanks for checking in. Hope you all are staying cool and having some summer fun. We had such a great gig at the Sitting Duck in Woods Bay on June 20th! What a great crowd! The energy was really awesome. Can't wait to come back later this summer.

Well... FMP is getting ready for a long hiatus. The guitar player is traveling to Asia this summer (China, to be specific) on a study trip and we will not be performing as a group for about five weeks. The rest of the band has some projects in the works... Teri, Rob, and Dan will be making music in other various settings while Doug is messing around in China. All of us are a little sad to not be playing together during this time, but rest assured that we'll be back performing right away when we re-unite at the Sitting Duck on August 15th. Our last gig before Doug leaves is July 10th at Ricciardi's Point Spread Lounge in Polson. Please come out and join us having some fun at our last gig before our break! We've been performing solid for almost three years now, and this will be our longest stint apart since the band was formed in 2006! Some of us may need Full Moon Therapy after the first few weeks. Anyway, thanks again for your support and we hope to see you on July 10th in Polson!

Hi friends and fans... We just played our first gig at the Sitting Duck in Woods Bay. Had a great time, met some new friends. Quite a lively bachelorette party. Lots of gals dressed up and wielding giant blow-up body parts. Hmm... A beautiful evening under the stars outside on the Duck's enormous deck overlooking Flathead Lake. Thanks to Karen for booking us... looking forward to many nights there in the future.

Coming up is June 13th at the Union Club, then Out to Lunch at Missoula's Caras Park, under the big tent on June 17th. Doug's mom- who will be visiting from back east- will be in attendance, to keep him in line. Should be an improvement on last year's Out to Lunch gig... that was the day it snowed in June... remember that? Not a very big crowd, but we had fun anyway. Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you soon!

Greetings friends... Nice of you to stop by! We are doing fine and have had some truly great gigs lately. Full house at the Union Club in Missoula last weekend, with some outstanding musician friends adding to the fun. Our good friend Vic Stampley joined us onstage with his harps of magic for a few tunes. Also, a former Missoula musician (another harp player) named "Seth" - not sure of his last name -  also played a few songs. These guys were really fun to hear. Quite a few other great players around the Union that night also. Next up is a return to the Great Northern in Whitefish this Friday and Saturday night, May 1 - 2. We'd love to have some of our friends show up; it always makes it more fun when you are there. Thanks again for checking in. Keep on rockin'!

Hi everyone. All is well in Prophetland. Last weekend we added yet another interesting gig scenario to our list... we played a prom! We weren't sure how it would go, playing for younger folks than we are used to... but we had a really fun time and the kids (and the adults who were in charge) were awesome. The report is just in from the teachers and it looks like they had a great time, despite the fact that we didn't do any Rhianna, Chris Brown, or Akon tunes.  It really was cool being able to be a part of something that was a truly significant event for these young men and women. Thanks to our new friend Tim Marchand for the opportunity and support.

Next up is Friday March 27th... a long awaited return to the Rocky Mountain Roadhouse in Ferndale USA, a few miles down the road from Bigfork. Hope we will see you there!

We are still setting up some 2009 playing dates. If you are interested in booking us for later this spring or summer, please get ahold of us soon as we are currently working on our schedule for the rest of this year.

Greetings to the faithful and the curious. And to the curiously faithful. Thanks for checking in again. Looks like we have some return dates for later this spring up in Whitefish at the Great Northern Bar and Grill. We had so much fun there the last time, can't wait to come back. See our updated "Dates" page for these and other gigs. We are presently in the process of learning 8 new tunes, as well as working on new originals from Teri and Doug, and are actively negotiating bookings for this coming spring and summer. Hopefully we will be expanding our playing venues to other areas of the state. We have been considering Hamilton, Great Falls and maybe Helena. We have a few possible private events, outdoor city concerts, and of course, there is the ever-present CD PROJECT that we are always working towards. FMP is alive and well and ready for 2009 and beyond! Come see us at the Union Club in Missoula on Friday night Feb. 20th. We'd love to see you!

Hi everyone.  Wow! We sure had a great time up at the Great Northern in downtown Whitefish this past Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks to Scott and all the fine folks at the GN for giving us a shot... and some good memories. A good crowd on Friday and a packed house on Saturday. One of those nights where you are reminded why you play live music. We truly had a blast, and people seemed to really like our stuff. Hope we get to play there again some time soon. Doug is back on his feet after a nasty back injury... good as new and ready to rock again at the Union Club in Missoula on Saturday Jan. 24th.

Teri is starting up a brand new Open Mic/Jam on Thursday nights at the Union Club in Missoula, starting Jan. 27th. All you aspiring musicians... come on by and be heard! There will be a full sound system, drums, mics, etc.  The Jam goes from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Contact Teri (see our Contacts page) for more info, or you can call the Union Club......... later, friends!

Friends and family of FMP... May this new year be blessed with the strengthening of old relationships, the growth of new friends, and lots and lots of musical joy. We hope that in some small way we can add to those for you, especially that last one there. Hope you had a fun and relaxing holiday season.

We really enjoyed ringing in 2009 at the KwaTakNuk Resort in Polson with a fun and appreciative audience. We were bombarded with requests for "Louie Louie"... which oddly we have never done before. Thanks to our friend Mark, who quickly found a computer and scrawled out the "words" (we never really thought there were 'lyrics' there, but there are, as it turns out)... we pulled it off, and actually it went over quite well. So there you go. New year, new challenges met within minutes. Guitarist Doug, whose screwed up spine was twisted into an excruciating double-helix that night, is now recovering and reconsidering his membership in the AARP, and storing the walker for future possible use. His side project, Louie and the Loritabs, is wrapping up. Dan is fresh back from travels in the Portland area visiting family, Rob is hard at it on the road, and Teri's new puppy, Jimi (assumed spelling since her cat is Hendrix) is settling into a world filled with music (we discovered he's a backup singer during soundcheck), trips up and down US93, and cranky felines.

So our other big news is that we are playing at the Great Northern in Whitefish on Jan. 16th (Friday) and 17th (Saturday). It should be a lot of fun, as we know they like to have a good time at the Northern, and it's our first time getting to play there. Hope we will see you there. Again, have a safe, fun, and satisfying start to your new year.

Hello again friends and fans, thanks for checking in. We had a full house including some of the area's best musicians on hand at the Union Club in Missoula on Friday night. It was great to have Vic Stampley join us onstage for some harmonica magic in the late hours of the evening. Richie Reinholdt stopped by to chat, as well as Tom (of Tomatoes fame), and several others. It was also awesome, as always, to see some close friends and fans like Dan, Carolyn, Marty, Andrea, Janet, and "that one couple". We had a great time and look forward to more Union Club gigs, as we are now booked there through May 2009. Next up: Rocky Mtn. Roadhouse Friday Dec. 12th and back to Ricciardi's Point Spread Lounge on Sat. Dec. 13th. Don't forget New Year's Eve at KwaTakNuk...

11/25/08
Hi friends... breaking news- we will be playing at Ricciardi's in Polson this Friday, Nov. 28th and then again on Dec. 13th. We are looking forward to our return to Finley Point. We are also rehearsing some brand new material this weekend, so be on the lookout for new songs in our setlists. Hope to see you Friday night! Also, we will be back at the Union Club in Missoula on Dec. 5th.

Happy Birthday to Teri (Nov. 18) and Doug (Nov. 17), both turning 29 again this year. Had a good time at the Rocky Mountain Roadhouse in Ferndale last Fri. night... not a big crowd, but fun as ever (great place, thanks Lisa!). We will be back there on December 12th, so all you Flatheaders (that just sounds wrong), we hope to see you then. Next up is a return to the Union Club in Missoula on Dec. 5th... Also don't forget the big New Year's Bash on Dec. 31st at the KwaTakNuk Resort in Polson, 9 pm to 1 am. You can get some great deals on lodging packages... then party hearty and enjoy ringing in 2009 without having to drive anywhere. Sound like a good idea? Call the Resort at (406)883-3636 and ask about the room packages they'll be offering. Should be a really fun party. We'll see you soon!

Wow! What a fun time at the Union Club this past Friday night. We really enjoyed ourselves... the place was packed and the dance floor was filled pretty much all night long. Thanks to all the fine folks who came out (and especially those who hung in there until the lights went on at 1:30!). It really is a great venue. Union Clubbers? REAL people who appreciate a little diversity and treat one another as friends. We are looking forward to our next gig there on Nov. 8th (just around the corner!)... Next up is our first gig at the Polson Elks Lodge on Main Street in Polson Nov. 1st. We'll be starting at 8:00 and playing until midnight. Hope to see you there.   ~Doug

Greetings, friends. It's been a while, eh? We are on a bit of a short hiatus at the present. Next show not until Oct. 17th at the Union Club in Missoula. We are working on a "retreat" of sorts coming up this fall/winter during which we hope to finish some original compositions and get going on a serious recording effort. Bear with us until then. Also working on an upcoming gig in Kalispell soon... more details on that later. Don't miss our show at the Polson Elks Lodge on November 1st (Halloween weekend). FMP is still kickin'!!!

9/9/08
Hi everyone. Thanks for checking in. We really enjoyed our first "Dayton Daze" last weekend.  We were forced to move all the gear inside due to an impending rainstorm, but everything went without a hitch once  we were set up. Thanks once again to Mark Sourhada for all the technical and equipment expertise. Mark and Craig "Elmo" Davey did a great job playing their tight and soulful stuff earlier in the day. The food and people were awesome. Hope we can come back to the Idle Spur sometime in the near future. Next stop... Raleigh's in Polson on Saturday Sept. 13th. See you then...

8/26/08
It was awesome to get back together after a 2-week break and play outdoors at the Beer Festival - at the KwaTakNuk Resort - last Saturday night. We started kind of early, but the crowd grew steadily as the night went on. By the time we had to quit at 11:30, there were quite a few dancers out there, and everyone was "happy". It was a fun night and we met some great folks. More requests for a CD...  We sure would like to get that accomplished soon. Next gig: Union Club in Missoula, St. night Aug.30th, 9 pm. We had a blast there last time, and we look forward to a good crowd of newly returned UM students at the show. Hope we can see you there.

8/13/08
Looks like we are taking a RARE weekend off! Sorry friends... our next gig is at the KwaTakNuk Resort in Polson... Beer and Wine Festival August 23rd, 8:00 to midnight. We had a fun weekend playing up in Ferndale at the Roadhouse- including a memorable version of "Rocky Top" for those crazy Tennesseeans- then at Raleigh's on Saturday. You gotta love those bachelorette parties! Thanks to CJ, Mike, Kim, and Shelly for a great gig. See you at the Resort on the 23rd!

8/3/08
Wow! We had a great time playing at Adrienne Livoni's wedding, held at the Chief Joseph Ranch in Darby, MT on Aug. 2nd. Great people, amazing food, and my- those folks like to dance! Even managed to pull off a few requests of songs we had never played before. It was a genuinely great group of people. Thanks to all.
