Welcome to FMP Online...
Welcome to the online home of the Full Moon Prophets...

We are a four-piece blues-R&B-rock-jam group from western Montana. FMP is available for diverse gigs, including clubs and private functions. We play edgy originals, as well as modern adaptations of classic tunes. We play music we love- from CSNY to Bob Dylan to Sheryl Crow, with an original blues-funk twist.

We hope you enjoy cruising around our site, and we'd love to hear from you!

What the Prophets are up to...

Hello friends...

Zoo-town Debuoo was a hoot!

We played our first show in Missoula on May 31st at the Union Club. We had a blast there... what a great crowd! We are looking forward to our next Missoula gig, under the big white tent at Caras Park for "Out to Lunch" on June 11th. We start that show at 11:00 a.m. Hope to see you there!

Hey! Guess what we got to do?

On very short notice, we were asked to perform at the Hilary Clinton campaign event at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo. Our job was to play some lively music as the crowd was waiting for Senator Clinton to arrive. Around 1,200 folks turned out for the event. We were fortunate enough to get to talk to Hilary personally as she was getting ready to depart. It was a neat thing to be able to do, and we were honored to be asked to play for this special occasion. Unfortunately our drummer, Rob "O-bambam-ma" Spencer, was out of the area and unable to attend, so our good friend Mark Souhrada filled in on drums in his absence. Here is a pic of us with Hilary...

Spring 2008
Thanks for checking in...
We're at the Rocky Mountain Roadhouse in Ferndale (near Bigfork) on Friday night, May 23rd. Flathead friends, we hope you will come out and kick up yer boots with us. Then we are at the Union Club in Missoula next Saturday, May 31st. That will be our Missoula debut, and we can't wait. We love the UC... should be really fun.

We will be playing in the "Out to Lunch" concert series at Caras Park in Missoula on June 11th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. We are hoping for some good weather and a great crowd.

We had a great time opening for Too Slim and the Taildraggers in Kalispell on March 28th. The show was at the Eagles Hall. We played for about an hour and then Too Slim and Co. began around 9:00. It was an honor for us to warm up the crowd for such a great band. It was a great night! If you were there, we hope you enjoyed yourself, and we hope we see you again soon. Thanks to TooSlim (Tim) and Maui Sun OL Productions for allowing us the opportunity!

Rob is back from L.A., after playing and hanging out with friends in the drumming world, including Kenny Aronoff (drummer for John Fogerty and John Mellencamp, among others). Other band members have been traveling (look for the tanned bass player) and working (look for the pale guitar player). We are currently working on some new material, including several new originals. Hope you get to hear those soon. We are currently booking dates for spring and summer, and our calendar is filling up quickly (see "Dates" page). We anticipate some new venues soon, and are very happy to be playing in Missoula at the Union Club on May 31st.

Other good news!

We just finished a small recording project. We have produced a 9-song demo CD - for club managers, booking agents, or anyone else who is interested -  to get a sense for what we sound like. Although a studio recording has little of the energy of a live show, we feel this CD showcases our musical style pretty well. Masterfully mastered and magically mixed by the awe-inspring David Griffith at his Snoring Hound Studios in metropolitan Somers, MT, this demo CD is be available upon request for promotional purposes... we also have these tracks available on the "Media" page of this site. Any feedback? Leave us a message on our Guestbook at the end of our site.

Fall 2007

It was a hot but fun summer, and the FMP been playing more and more as the word gets out. We have recently added a bunch of new material to our songlists... hope you like 'em. Fall is here, and we're ready to welcome the cooler weather and rock into winter and beyond. No plans to slow down just 'cuz summer's over... we want to play!

Back in September, we had the honor of performing at the Flathead Blues Society's End-of-Summer Blues Party at Lake Mary Ronan recently, along with Big Daddy and the Bluenotes, Stacey Jones and the Wolftones, and Pound for Pound... what a fun time! There were many excellent musicians there, and we had a great time playing and hanging out with friends old and new, as well as all the blues maestros.

Summer 2007 Recap...

Earlier last summer we played at a wedding at the HeartView Center on Jocko Road near Arlee. An incredible setting on a beautiful summer day, with great people and a clear full moon. What more could you ask for? The ceremony was truly inspiring, and the food was awesome! We played our favorite tunes and had a blast, and then the full moon rose up from behind the peaks and we did an encore of "Moondance" to an appreciative crowd that whooped and danced in true Montana wild style into the night.

On the very next full moon, we were back at the very same location... this time to a different group of folks, for a private party. Two full moons in a row! Just a coincidence? Hmmmm...

We were honored to play at the 4th of July Celebration at Whitefish City Beach for the city's independence day festivities. We were a bit surprised at how many folks turned out to see the fireworks at the beach (thousands!). We had a great time and received a lot of good feedback from passersby.

We played Labor Day weekend at Raleigh's in Polson (the old Diamond Horseshoe)... both Friday and Saturday shows. Lots of friends turned out, and we had a great time!

Late last summer, we played at a memorable wedding celebration on the Clark Fork River near Alberton. It was a truly beautiful and enjoyable time. The bride and groom were incredibly cool people, as were their family and friends who came from Georgia, Colorado, and elsewhere to join in the fun. Perfect weather, great food, and awesome people. What more could you ask for? Plus, they turned us on to some great new tunes which we plan to keep in our songlist.
